Piazzale Michelangelo, designed in the second half of 1800 by architect Giuseppe Poggi, is the most famous vantage point of the city. It's the favourite destination of millions of tourists that every year take their photos of Florence from above. The Square, situated on a hill south of the city center, is dedicated to the genius of Michelangelo, and is equipped with bronze copies of the David and the four Allegories. It is worthwhile to visit the Piazzale Michelangelo, as well as for its beautiful landscape, for the Rose Garden and for a visit of the beautiful church of San Miniato al Monte.
